Shortness of breath

Pleural Malignant Mesothelioma Treatments
It is very difficult to treat Mesothelioma. If caught still early, say stage one or two, sometimes surgery can be performed to remove the cancer. Because of the area it is in, treatment by surgery is very difficult. Just as with other cancers, radiation and chemotherapy are options chosen by the specialists.
The patient is spoken to by their oncologist about what stage they are in and how this will effect treatment. The very hard decision is then made to try to treat the cancer, or to base treatment on comfort of the patient.
Pleural Malignant Mesothelioma Outlook
Unfortunately, Mesothelioma is a very hard cancer to treat. Patients are usually told they have a year to live. With recent research, there are more and more Mesothelioma survivors past that one year outlook. The five year survival rate is a mere 9%.

A Radio Ad By An Asbestos Mesothelioma Attorney
I was listening to a favorite talk radio program on my car radio, something I do in my role as a hospice chaplain. A law firm’s radio commercial featured a commentator asking if I possibly had an asbestos mesothelioma legal claim.
Perhaps you are someone who has never heard of an asbestos disease called mesothelioma. Up to that point, neither had I, but soon I continually heard references to peritoneal mesothelioma whenever that same commercial played, usually sever times a day.
The Announcer asked “Do you have a asbestos mesothelioma legal claim? “
Perhaps you have heard the ad too, if you listen to the radio or ogle TV. Of course, it could be one of those advertisements we usually don’t listen to unless we have peritoneal mesothelioma or know someone who does.
But there were enough catch words on that particular lawyer’s radio ad to capture my attention. Words such as asbestos, asbestos exposure, and remodeling and construction.
It occurred to me that those in the legal profession must be making money by locating people with exposure to peritoneal mesothelioma and convincing them to file an asbestos mesothelioma legal claim.
Later I found out that mesothelioma is a form of cancer that is usually caused by exposure to asbestos at some time in a person’s life. What happens is that malignant cells develop in the mesothelium, which is a protective lining that covers most of the body’s internal organs.
While those who develop mesothelioma have worked in careers where they inhaled asbestos particles, usually in the construction field. But anyone of us could have been exposed to asbestos dust and fibers in other ways. Exposure may have been through the simple task of washing the clothes of a family member who worked with asbestos.
I Began To Wonder If I Had Mesothelioma Asbestos Exposure
My guess is that I have been exposed to asbestos, as have you, most likely. Hey, if you attended school in an old building or attended love services in an older church facility, who knows the air quality dangers that must have existed.
Even the home we were renting in San Diego at the time Iheard that mesothelioma advertisement prompted concerns about my maintain mesothelioma asbestos exposure. That’s because our landlord let us know that he decided not to replace the tile flooring in the bathroom due to the risk of asbestos exposure!
Then I thought back to when I was remodeling fixer-upper houses in an attempt to survive financially in a very gross paying pastoral assignment. I know there was asbestos in one old house I remodeled in Bellingham, Washington. It had asbestos siding that I removed to put in a new window.

Since most of us did not take the precautions we should have in our do it yourself projects, does that mean we are at risk? And should I write down that lawyer’s number fair in case we need to file an asbestos mesothelioma legal claim?
After listening to that radio ad about play incessantly for several months, I did find some website information about peritoneal mesothelioma, even if I couldn’t spell it without looking, let alone pronounce it accurate!
My guess is that there were many who could not spell the term, because the announcer spelled out “mesothelioma” impartial to make positive we listeners had some idea how to write it out if in the event that someone did have an asbestos mesothelioma legal claim.

Mesothelioma is a rare form of malignant cancer. Mesothelioma most often develops in the lining of the chest or the lining of the abdominal cavity. Mesothelioma that develops in the lining of the chest is known as pleural mesothelioma. Mesothelioma that develops in the abdominal cavity is known as peritoneal mesothelioma.
Asbestos exposure is most often the cause of mesothelioma development. Radiation, tobacco, and zeolite exposure may also cause mesothelioma development. People who have worked in jobs in which they were exposed to asbestos are at an increased risk for developing mesothelioma. Some people may have been unknowingly exposed to asbestos pollution. Building codes and health standards have changed greatly within the last few decades. There is now a conscious effort to prevent asbestos exposure in the public and private sector.
An estimated 2,000 to 3,000 new cases of mesothelioma are diagnosed yearly in the United States. Mesothelioma diagnosis is on the rise. This may be due to increased awareness if the condition. The average age that a diagnosis of mesothelioma is made is 60. Mesothelioma affects men 3 to 5 times more often than women. Mesothelioma is less approved in African Americans than in white Americans. The average survival time following mesothelioma diagnosis is one year. This is because the mesothelioma is often in advanced state when the diagnosis is made. When mesothelioma is found early, aggressive treatment can prolong the life expectancy as mighty as 3 to 5 years.
Mesothelioma related to asbestos exposure can develop as much as 50to 70 years after initial contact. Asbestos exposure lasting for only a few weeks or months are also linked to mesothelioma development. Mesothelioma has a long latency period. Many will not experience noticeable symptoms during the initial stages of mesothelioma.
As pleural mesothelioma progresses, many people may present with pain in the lower support or at the side of the chest. Shortness of breath, difficulty swallowing, cough, and fever are other symptoms associated with pleural mesothelioma. Other symptoms of pleural mesothelioma include hoarseness, coughing up blood, swelling of the face and arms, muscle weakness, and sensory loss. The symptoms may vary in intensity and duration in each individual sufferer.
As peritoneal mesothelioma develops, weight loss, abdominal pain, and vomiting may be present. Other symptoms of peritoneal mesothelioma include hernia, fluid in the abdominal cavity or an abdominal mass.
Diagnosis of mesothelioma is based on several physical examinations and diagnostic procedures. A complete medical history and physical examination will be taken to choose risk factors and possible triggers of mesothelioma. Chest x-rays and CT scans will be used to assess pleural and peritoneal cavities. Tissue samples may also be taken to further exam and diagnose mesothelioma.
Mesothelioma treatment is based on the type and stage of the mesothelioma. Cancer medication, immune therapy, and photodynamic therapies may be used in the treatment of mesothelioma.

There are several different mesothelioma treatment options. The treatment program prescribed will depend on many things such as the patient’s age, the patient’s wants, the look of the cancer cells (microscope), how powerful the cancer has spread, where the cancer is located and the stage of the cancer. Getting a mesothelioma treatment view as soon as possible is extremely important if you put a question to success.
Mesothelioma Treatment Options: Will Treatments Work?
For some, yes. The average survival rate is said to be eight to twelve months, but many patients have exceeded this. Time is the most important factor when it comes to effective treatment. One treatment program (Dr. Sugarbaker’s treatment program at the Brigham and Woman’s Center in Boston) boasts a 40% five year survival rate when treated within a specific time frame. Patients must meet a positive criteria to qualify for this program.
Mesothelioma Treatment Options: Conventional Cancer Treatments
Some patients will undergo surgery in order to try and remove the cancer. Some patients will go through chemotherapy to try to fight the cancer. Some patients will go through radiation therapy to try to kill the cancer cells. Often times a combination on two or all of these methods is broken-down when trying to treat mesothelioma.
Mesothelioma Treatment Options: Mesomark Blood Test
This mesothelioma treatment option was approved by the FDA in January of 2007. This treatment was introduced as a way to help monitor how a patient is responding to treatment. This test measures the amount to SMRP (soluble mesothelin-related peptide) in the blood to choose a patients progress. Since this treatment option is still very unique, its effectiveness has yet to be determined.
Mesothelioma Treatment Options: Palliative Procedures
Pleurodesis and chest tube drainage is used as a mesothelioma treatment. This helps to prevent the fluid buildup in the lungs that often occurs with this disease. Doctors will often use some type of sclerosing agent in order to produce adhesion so prevent future fluid buildup.
Pleurectomy may be performed when an extensive surgery cannot be. Many doctors judge this the most effective map of controlling fluid buildup in the lungs. It can help to relieve restricted lung expansion that can be brought on by this disease.
Mesothelioma Treatment Options: Potentially Curative Procedures
Pleurectomy and/or decortication is typically performed on patients who are in the early stages of mesothelioma (i.e., stage 1 and distinct stage 2’s). This procedure is done to try to remove the tumor. If the tumor cannot be removed without the lung being removed as well, this may be done too.
There is a lot of medical research being done on mesothelioma treatment options, so a better prognosis could be just around the corner. It is important to have this disease diagnosed as quickly as possible to pick up the best results from treatment. If you have ever been exposed to anything that may cause mesothelioma, be sure to have your doctor check you right away.

Mesothelioma is a type of cancer that is usually caused due to exposure to asbestos. In mesothelioma, the malignant cells start developing in the mesothelium, the layer that acts as a protective layer on almost all the internal organs. It is commonly found on the lining of the chest wall and lungs (pleura), but it can also be found in the abdominal cavity lining (peritoneum), the heart, pericardium, and tunica vaginalis.
It is a common case among people who would have worked in places where they would have inhaled the particles of asbestos. It is also found that there is an increased risk of getting mesothelioma if one washes the clothes of a person who works in a place where there is a high concentration of asbestos. There has been no relation established between smoking and mesothelioma, although smoking leads to lung cancer.
Some of the symptoms of mesothelioma include running short of breath resulting from pleural effusion, paining of chest wall, and other general symptoms like loss of weight. The patient can be diagnosed with the help of X-ray of the chest and CT scan. Mesothelioma can be confirmed by conducting microscopic examination and biopsy. A thoracoscopy can be done in order to take biopsies. Thoracoscopy allows the doctor to introduce substances like talc to demolish the excess fluid that is putting pressure on the lungs. Even after strong treatments like chemotherapy, surgery and radiation therapy the prognosis of mesothelioma is terrible. Typically, the symptoms of mesothelioma occur after twenty to fifty years of asbestos exposure. Some of the symptoms of mesothelioma are cough, shortness of breath, and chest pain due to fluid accumulation around the lungs. Other symptoms of mesothelioma include cachexia and loss of weight, swelling of the abdomen and abdominal pain, bowel obstruction, abnormalities in blood clotting, fever and anemia. –One may feel short of breath even if not doing any activity
–One id diagnosed with anemia and is experiencing fatigue
–The person is wheezing, sounds hoarse, or coughs continuously
–The person coughs out blood, a condition called hemoptysis
In cases where mesothelioma becomes very severe, the person may develop several tumor masses. The affected person may also get pneumothorax, a condition when the lungs collapse. There are chances that mesothelioma may spread to other organs of the body. The tumor that develops in the abdominal cavity does not show any symptoms until it has reached the last stages. Some of the symptoms of mesothelioma that affect the abdominal cavity are:
–Pain in the abdomen.
–Atypical collection of fluid in the abdomen.
–Swelling of the abdomen.
–Trouble in the functioning of bowel
–Abnormal loss of weight

Symptoms of mesothelioma may include: Pleural Mesothelioma – dry raspy cough, coughing up blood, distress swallowing, fever, night sweats, weight loss, fatigue, painful chest, grief breathing, lumps under the skin of the chest, Peritoneal Mesothelioma - swollen or painful abdomen, changes in bowel habits, nausea or vomiting, anemia, fatigue, fever or night sweats, weight loss, lumps under abdominal skin, and

I apologize to those who have read so many vaccine articles, but there is so much interesting and scary history in what has occurred since their release to the public, I believe it should be looked at closely. So many different forms of evidence and what appears to be associations with vaccines and new problems plaguing society, it is easy to dismiss one as coincidence, but after a while we must begin to question the statistics of repeated coincidence as becoming more probable and less possible.
We all know the astounding success of the Polio vaccine. Within a couple years of the release of the polio vaccine and widespread delivery of this new vaccine, the numbers dropped form tens of thousands of cases per year to a few hundred, and eventually to just a few, each caused by the vaccine itself, but the benefit obviously outweighed the risk. however, there is an interesting correlation between the history of polio and vaccines, specifically other vaccines. In the past I have heard many research doctors and statisticians insist of a correlation between polio outbreaks and recent vaccines, but could never find the data to show it, so I did my own search to see for myself, and have posted the results here.
In the history of Polio and vaccines, Polio was in existence before vaccines but cases of polio were rare. however once vaccines came into the scene, things changed. Examine closely the correlation between the polio outbreaks and vaccine releases.
In 1890 the first Tetanus and Diphtheria vaccines were released, in 1896 the typhoid vaccine and 1897 the Bubonic Plague vaccine was introduced. In 1894 was the first ever outbreak of polio in the U.S., the numbers were small, but it was an outbreak. The subsequent years, the incidence of Polio continued to climb. by 1909 Massachusetts began counting reported cases of Polio, in 1916 we suffered a large outbreak with 9000 cases in New York City alone.
New vaccines: 1926 Pertussis, 1927 TB, 1932 Yellow Fever.
In 1932 another major outbreak of Polio with 2500 cases in Los Angeles alone.
Here is where it really gets arresting and becomes difficult to narrow down the causation, if the correlation between the Polio Outbreaks and vaccines is more than coincidence. Because the Tetanus vaccine was stronger back then, and was required more frequently, (I acquire it was originally required annually or at least biannually), it appears that perhaps the Tetanus vaccine alone could have been a catalyst in Polio outbreaks, or perhaps it is a culmination of more and more vaccines being released, as the numbers of polio cases continue to rise from a once rare problem to a threatening epidemic that won’t go away, (sounds like autism doesn’t it). Now enter the year 1945!
In 1945 the first influenza vaccine was invented, and also during W.W.II the Tetanus vaccine was used vigorously, more so perhaps than any other time in history. Now, from 1945 through 1949 the largest Polio outbreak ever in the U.S. occurs with over 20,000 cases per year. Suddenly Polio became a major concern.
In 1952 the Polio vaccine was released, and in 1952 there were 58,000 cases of Polio.
The major outbreak in Polio immediately following the vaccine should be no surprise, we know that for at least the past 4 decades, every case of polio in the U.S. was caused by the Polio vaccine itself, and even the CDC acknowledges this. Most cases have been caused by the live virus vaccine given to one person, like a baby, then an unvaccinated parent would contract polio through diaper changing or other contact.
We also know that the Polio vaccine appears statistically to have nearly eliminated polio, but with the shriek correlation of polio outbreaks with the introduction of other vaccines, one should be asking, where did polio reach from? Is it pure coincidence that Polio was a rare illness throughout history until vaccines began to be used in a widespread program? Why did Polio simply choose the exact same time frame of vaccine releases to raise it’s ugly head?
It is also a well known fact that the Polio vaccine was later discovered to have contained the Simian Virus 40, (SV40), a cancer causing virus that estimates range from 20 million to hundreds of millions of people could have been infected with, while the best guess estimate is roughly 98 million people that could die from cancer due to the Polio vaccine. This virus has been found in Mesothelioma, brain cancers, and other cancers.
If we are to be honest, and understanding that vaccines for the most part are injected and therefore bypass the bodies primary defense mechanism, we should look at these figures and ask, where did Polio come from? The outbreaks seems to follow concisely with the introduction of specific vaccines. If Polio were not associated with these vaccines, then why was polio not a major epidemic at any time in history before. Yes, Polio was heard of and did exist, but not in outbreaks or epidemics. Is it because vaccines weaken the immune system and leave us vulnerable to other viral and bacterial problems that were never before a major problem? Or is injecting animal tissue and other harmful ingredients into the human body causing damage that is allowing or perhaps even perpetuating a disease like polio.
If the correlation between polio outbreaks and vaccines is accurate, then many people suffered from polio instead of getting the measles, flu, perhaps tetanus, (and I am not downgrading the seriousness of tetanus), and with the introduction of SV40 and other before unheard of virus’s into the human anatomy, now potentially hundreds of millions of people will die of cancer instead of developing a natural immunity to the measles or instead of suffering a few days with the flu.
In the end, the Polio vaccine was a life saver and gave peace to millions of people as Polio seems to status on the horizon as the even sun does, but what people do not realize is the possibility that Polio, Guillian Barre Syndrome, Encephylitis, autism and many other problems have apparently been aggravated, if not caused by the release of other vaccines. Maybe we don’t know everything there is to know, and like so many other area’s of science as we have learned from the past, there are things we don’t know that do afflict us. Or are we so arrogant as to believe we know more than God and we cannot possibly be wrong.

The pride of the Scientology Sea Org, an ex-cruise ship called the Freewinds, may have made its last voyage. A report dated April 26, by Laprensa Curaçao reports (report in Papiamento) that the Maritime Inspection authorities of Curacao, Netherlands Antilles, have ordered the Freewinds sealed and isolated because of asbestos contamination.
My grasp of Papamiento is incredibly bad, but it appears that the asbestos was released into the ship’s ventilation system when the crew of the Freewinds was doing some interior repairs at the ship’s berth in Otrabanda, part of Curacao’s capital Willemsted, before the ship went to drydock for hull repairs. The Freewinds was in drydock at the Curacao Drydock Company when rumors or reports of blue asbestos (crocidolite) in the air ducts prompted the repair firm to call in the local health department. Samples were taken and sent to the Netherlands for analysis. The results reportedly showed significant amounts of blue asbestos, so the health department took action to protect the workers at the docks and the public at large.
The presence of asbestos on board the Freewinds should not have surprised the Scientologists. When the Freewinds was being renovated 20 years ago the chief architect, Lawrence Woodcraft, told them that the ship had asbestos. In his deposition, Woodcraft states, “In short, asbestos was everywhere as was typical of a ship built in the sixties.” He describes the indifference and the importing of a group of Scientologists to complete the repairs and then states, “It looked grand, but behind the paneling, the asbestos was left hanging and flaking and falling apart. The ceiling panels were set in a metal grid system, which is a long way from being airtight. Every time a panel is removed for routine maintenance, asbestos dust is released into the rooms, cabins and corridors of the ship. “
Since then, thousands of Scientologists have spent weeks at a time on the Freewinds for advanced and expensive training. Tom Cruise had his big birthday bash aboard the Freewinds. Even innocent tourists may have been exposed to the asbestos. One blogger reports touring the Freewinds (which he calls Fair Winds) and watchnig Eragon in Bonaire.
Asbestos, and particularly blue asbestos, is one of the substances that can provoke mesothelioma, a serious and hard to treat lung cancer. This could lead to a class action lawsuit that financially drains Scientology … personal injury lawyers all over the USA must be salivating at the chance to loot the Sea Org’s booty.
An ex-scientologist had this to say on the forums of enturbulation.org, “While I’m celebrating that the Freewinds has been sealed and shut down and that DM is probably ready to slice his wrists, I also am pissed off and scared because my husband and I were on the Freewinds for a week and we were exposed to that shit. Any lawyers want to go after them, I’ll be satisfied to sign up.”
